Annual "Paint the Town BLUE" Fundraising Gala
The "Paint the Town BLUE" Candidate Fundraising Gala is held every year in August and the funds raised go towards helping elect Mecklenburg County Democratic candidates. This year, the gala was be held on Thursday, August 15, at 6:30 PM at The Palmer Building, 2601 E. 7th Street, Charlotte. We had a great turnout and all who attended enjoyed the chance to mingle with candidates, elected officials, and other Democrats.
The recipient of the "Doris Cromartie Award" was the Honorable Alma Adams, United States Congresswoman representing North Carolina's 12th District. Congresswoman Adams has represented North Carolina honorable and her work in Congress includes supporting women's reproductive rights, sponsoring the Momnibus Act to address the maternal health crisis, and leading the fight to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act which makes it easier for women to find out about pay discrimination and prevents big corporations from retaliating against women who ask questions about their pay in relation to their male colleagues.
We are proud to have her represent North Carolina in Congress!
